In an effort to capture the light and airy feel of Hilltop's breezes, the designers aimed to create a building that felt more like an art museum than a typical apartment complex. Working with Plantech to oversee the design, the concept aimed to honor three main ideas: history, air, and earth. Located in a historic area where many important people have lived for centuries, the building was designed to blend in with the sky and the land while also feeling solid and dependable.

The most important part of the design is the northern side of the building. It has a simple layout that's typical of smaller apartment buildings. The bottom part of the building has big tiles that look like wood, giving it a natural feel. And the top floors have big windows that make it feel like the building is reaching up to the sky.
